Hi, Red Hatters! I am “Gigi” (Imogene) Rogers. I saw your Red Hat and Purple Chaps performance at Indiana Downs, and was truly impressed! I knew than that I wanted to be a member of RHPC and I am very much looking forward to being a part of your group.
I started riding horses when I was six years old. Although I do not currently own a horse, I have, at various times in my life, owned four quarter horses. I belonged to the Golden Spur Saddle Club for 11 years. I am very comfortable with horses, and I have been in many horse shows, parades, and on miles and miles of trails. Unfortunately, a hip replacement two years ago has put riding as well as me into retirement.
After I graduated from Pike High School I went to IUPUI School of nursing for one year. I have worked for four different doctors offices in 18 years. After I retired from Indiana Girls School I helped my husband farm on our farm between Stilesville and Clayton. I drove everything but a combine. I am 77 years old and married to Charles “Pete” Rogers. I have three grown children -- two boys and a girl. I also have four grandchildren, two of whom I helped raise; and two great-grandchildren.
I am a past Worthy Matron twice over in fifty-six years at Catersburg Order of the Eastern Stars. I camp every spring through fall at the Running T campground in Rockville. I am a member of the New Winchester Christian church and the Eagles’ Lodge in Plainfield.
