I am Leanna Smith. I live in Stinesville IN. That is (more or less) between Bloomington and Spencer. The south central part of the state. I'm 52, have a very non-horsie husband. We have two sons and five grandchildren.

I got my first pony when I was 8 yrs old. The neighborhood got so tired of me sitting in the yard and begging to pet thier horses that they were offering to take up a collection to buy me a pony. My parents gave up and bought an older almost blind mare with a 3 day old colt. I learned to ride her bareback. “Major” grew up with me. Poor pony. He was put in boxes (aka play horse trailer) we went swimming in Big Walnut Creek, he pulled all the children's sleds back up a 3/4 mile hill every winter. After he turned two, he was ridden daylight to dusk all summer. I don't think I ever was more than two miles from home, but I was in my own world. I dragged burlap bags thru the corn fields in fall and put up hay in exchange for hay to feed him through winters.

I now have a retired 29 yr old Morgan mare, a 9 month old Morgan filly and a Quarter/cross that is 17 this year. I trail ride and dabble at Novice Eventing. I'm not very competitive. I just ride for enjoyment and to please myself. I also work at UP N OVER STABLE in Ellettsville, IN.

I have worked at the Bloomington IU Health Center for 25 yrs. My husband and I moved to Bloomington from Greencastle in 1970. My maiden name was Coy. I've never lived anywhere except Indiana.

I'm looking forward to meeting other ladies and riders nearer my own age and making new friends.
