My love for animals has served me well through my life. Animals have been my trusted friends. As a child I was introduced to horses briefly, off and on, but the timing was never right.
My childhood began again at fifty. An acquaintance invited me to go to Midwest, horsy camping for Memorial Day 2005. By the end of those brief 3 days my life had changed. I had mucked, fed, rode a little and fallen off, but I found that a deep passion had emerged in me through the rain and mud. Since then I have been busy learning life’s lessons. Never a person to move slowly, the next weekend I bought a 4-year black Stallion named Markey. I soon learned my first lesson in horsemanship and Markey is now a gelding.
My lessons continue. The childhood dreams of me with a black horse emerged. We were partners not horse and rider.
I have had a wonderful support system of friends to whom I must give credit, they have been very important in allowing me to follow this dream. And I continue my lessons daily. Living gratefully.
