I have lived the on the west side of Indianapolis all of my life. Even as a child I was what my mom and dad described as a horse nut. But I had to wait to have my first horse until I was 22. With some financial help from my dad, my first horse was an Appaloosa mare, Mandy, who was in foal...our deal was I paid for the half you road and dad paid for the part you could not ride yet...I was to have to have Mandy until her death at 26. We raised two more foals out of Mandy, one of which, Star, is still with me at the ripe of age of 29. I now ride another Appaloosa gelding named Alabama. We currently have , 3 Appaloosas, one quarter mare, one paint gelding , two ponies, 5 dogs and 5 cats. So we have lots of "unconditional love" to go around.
My husband, Don, and I have been married 36 years. We have two children and three grandchildren. We live in the Camby/Mooresville area. We own the Flying Moon Ranch and up until two years ago ran a boarding operation. We ceased boarding operations so we could enjoy our horses without the hassle of finding someone to watch the barn . We enjoy riding in the Hoosier National Forest, and spend most summer holidays at Midwest Trail Ride.
We are currently members and officers of the Hoosier Back Country Horsemen. We are a volunteer group working with the USFS to help maintain the trails that we all love to ride. We have done many project in conjunction with the USFS, some of which are, the signage of the Hickory Ridge trail system, the hitching rails, and new restroom at the Hickory Grove.
