I am Jan Boltinghouse and I have been crazy about horses all of my life.
I received my first horse (a pony) when I was about 5-6 years old. It was the meanest little thing on four legs. I was kicked, thrown, and run over, but not even that mean little pony change my mind. Fortunately, I didn't get to keep him very long. When I was 10 or 11, I got a grade horse. I was riding all the time; my parents never knew where I was on my horse, so when they needed to find me they would call the neighbors. I showed him in 4-H. He was my horse until he died.
After I got married, my husband Mike, and I bought an Appy. We showed him one year before our two sons were born. That took care of the showing! We had the Appy for about 4 years and then sold him. We moved to Ohio and lived there for more than20 years. In 1997 we came back to Bloomington. Four years ago I bought a Paint and from there we went to 10 horses and opened a tack store. I am now down to two horses, a palomino stud (2 years old, named Samson), and a three-year-old mare, (sorrel, named Lady)
I like to show for fun and trail ride when I can.
